The Minister of Transport witnesses the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Egyptian National Railways (ENR) represented by Trans-IT Company and Almaviva S.B.A Company (Italian) specialized in the field of transportation systems to cooperate in technological projects that serve Egyptian National Railways and passenger transportation systems.
Lieutenant-General Engineer / Kamel Al-Wazir – Minister of Transport witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in technological projects that serve the Egyptian National Railways and passenger transportation systems, between the Egyptian National Railways represented by Trans IT Company, the technological arm of the Ministry of Transport, and Almaviva S.B.A Company (Italian) specialized in the field of transportation systems and signed on behalf of the Egyptian side by Eng. Mustafa Abu El-Makarem, Egyptian National Railway’s chairman, and Eng. Khaled Attia, President of Trans IT, and for the Italian side, Mr. Alpertotrby, company’s President.
During the signing ceremony, the minister confirmed that the ministry has a plan to develop the activities and systems of information and technology systems in all sectors of transportation in general and railways in particular, and that the ministry owns two specialized companies in the field of information technology, namely Trans IT owned by ENR and Integrated Solutions owned by the port authorities Affiliate of the Ministry of Transport. The signing of the memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the ministry’s plan to benefit from cooperation with one of the international companies specialized in this field to benefit from its high experience in training Egyptian engineers and technicians and transfer modern technology to benefit from it in all transport sectors, especially Railways and Metro in the field of electronic gates, reservation systems and cameras noting the full support to achieve success of this partnership and full support for all the ministry’s companies to become at the forefront of companies in the country to provide the best services to the Egyptian citizen.
For his part, Mr. Alpertotrby, Italian Almaviva Company’s president, expressed his happiness to cooperate with the Egyptian Ministry of Transport in the field of information technology and transfer of experiences and modern technology, noting that the company has a long history in this field in Italy and a number of other countries such as Finland, Britain and Brazil, Mr. Asmir Fiorentini, Company’s General Manager, confirmed that the cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Transport will be one of the company’s priorities during the coming period, and that the company has specialized experts and modern technology in the field of transportation technology, connecting systems to connect transport, tourism, Management and operation of trains and smart road systems (ITS) and Its management and operation will achieve success for this partnership, especially with the great development witnessed in the transport system in Egypt.
